Whirlix Design, in partnership with the City of Mansfield, is excited to announce major upgrades coming to Katherine Rose Memorial Park in Mansfield, Texas. This beloved park playground has been a community favorite for many years, and the city recognized the importance of elevating this play space for its residents. The revitalized area will feature truly incredible play structures, from a Quantis 8.2 to a custom squirrel structure, bringing next-level play to the environment.

Set for installation in late 2025, we can't wait to see this space come to life!

Showcasing ALL the Play Value

Katherine Rose Memorial Park - New Playground (2)

Quantis® 8.2

Quantis® takes net play to new heights with endless routes for imaginative play! Each Quantis structure is packed with a variety of materials and climbers, along with integrated play components to challenge kids and provide hours of unscripted fun. While visually stunning, it offers much more than just nets—providing children with a truly dynamic, inclusive, and imaginative play experience.

We-Go-Swing®

We play, we laugh, we swing! The We-Go-Swing® is a revolutionary step forward in inclusive play. Designed to integrate seamlessly into the playground setting, this swing allows kids of all abilities to play together and experience the thrill of swinging. With no need to transfer, the We-Go-Swing opens up a whole new world of playground fun. It promotes social interaction by encouraging multiple users to work together, and it doesn't need to be segregated or locked when not in use.

Sway Fun® Glider

The Sway Fun® Glider is the first wheelchair-accessible glider that meets all safety standards, making it a great choice for inclusive playground fun. Its double-wall construction ensures durability, while the play table with cup holders and wheelchair handholds adds convenience. There's room for two wheelchairs, plus two large benches for other passengers.

Custom PlayOdyssey® Tower

The 12' PlayOdyssey® Tower mainstructure provides kids with an adventurous voyage of new proportions. Young explorers can journey to the top for the best view, finding treasured play activities all along the way, before coasting down the exhilarating slides.

And much more!

Revitalizing a Beloved Community Space

Katherine Rose Memorial Park Custom Squirrel (1)-1

It's incredibly exciting to see such a unique custom structure going into this space, which will be an extraordinary addition to this nature-themed play space. The custom squirrel structure, which was first unveiled at the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Conference in early October, among the other play events, will serve as a remarkable centerpiece for the community's beloved park, featuring:

  • Inclusive play events that cater to children of all abilities
  • A nature-inspired theme that complements the park's existing landscape
  • A reimagined space that marks a significant milestone for the Mansfield community

This project represents a major achievement for both the city and the field of playground design. The excitement is noticeable as we anticipate the positive impact these new play structures will have on the park and its visitors.
