Top 15 Playgrounds Blog - Dallas County
Dallas County's playgrounds cover a lot of ground — literally and stylistically. Some, like Breckinridge Park in Richardson and Ernie Roberts Park in DeSoto, are built from the ground up around all-abilities access. Others lean into local identity, like Caruth Park's nod to University Park's fishing heritage or Harold K. Bessire Park's tribute to Carrollton's first responders. And plenty are simply well-designed neighborhood spaces doing exactly what they're meant to do — give kids a great place to play.
This guide rounds up 15 standout playgrounds across the county, from Richardson to DeSoto, with the equipment, the details, and the stories that make each one worth a visit. Many were designed and installed by Whirlix Design, a North Texas-based playground and outdoor recreation company that's partnered with several of these cities directly.
